While a simple extraction can usually be performed in just a few minutes, surgical extractions will require more time and a higher level of sedation.
Typically, surgical extractions are used for impacted teeth or wisdom teeth. But you may also need to visit our office for a surgical extraction if you need our dentists to remove an extremely damaged tooth or teeth that are very fragile due to decay or wear. We may suggest this option if a tooth has very long, has curved roots or if we need to remove the tip of a tooth’s root. A surgical extraction may be required if the bone that surrounds the problem tooth is very dense.
During your visit, our team will do everything possible to ensure your comfort and will provide you with instructions to help you recover and heal properly.
